Nasty little blighter is this, it manages to sneak past Avira and Avast and is one of those little sods that disables Task manager, MSconfig, anti-virus and malware software, etc, etc which makes it a real pain to get rid of
Had it on my PC twice over the past 3 weeks, my son has also had it and it's also infected our internet PC at work.

Best way I've found to get rid of it is by dropping into F8 and following the instructions on that page.

And this is quite handy too (I didn't have to do the Windows HOSTS file bit):

yeah i have had this before ,takes over everything and stops you from doing anything i ran Malwarebytes anti malware in safe mode cleared it up no problem , its a free download

OR you could do a System restore to the day before you pickrd it up and then scan it woth Malwarebytes or some such.
